Salim Singh ki Haveli jaisalmer
Salim ji haveli is located in Jaisalmer city center, near Jaisalmer Railway Station. The 300-year-old mansion was named after its owner, Salim Singh Mahato and it was built on the remains of the old mansion built in the late 17th century. Salim Singh Mahato was the then prime minister of the princely state with Jaisalmer as his capital. At present, a part of the mansion is still in possession of the descendants of Salim Singh Mahato. Haveli is situated near the hills near Jaisalmer Fort and has a different architecture.

In this admirable mansion, just beneath the hill, there is a beautiful vaulted terrace with excellent carved brackets in the form of Peacocks. Walls, balconies are covered with all royal paintings. A person wearing a black turban is also a magnificent painting in the Mughal style. This mansion was held in the beautiful pearl palace of the dances to entertain the courtiers and royal elite. It is said that once Salim Singh’s mansion had two storied wooden stairs, it was trying to make it elevated like the palace of the Maharaja, but the Maharaja had the upper storey. This beautiful architectural building is one of Jaisalmer’s main attractions.

Salim Ji haveli is located in the heart of Jaisalmer city and is very close to the railway station. Visitors can get help from rickshaws to reach the destination without much problem.
