Jagdish temple is one of the famous temples of Udaipur. Located in the City Palace campus of Udaipur, this temple is built in the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. In 1651, the Jagdish temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh, who ruled Udaipur during 1628-53. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu , the preserver of the Universe. It is celebrated in Udaipur to be the largest temple in the city. The entrance to this temple can be seated at 150 meters from the twelve pol of the City Palace.

This three-story temple is a wonder of architecture which includes beautifully carved pillars, decorated ceilings, painted walls and lush green halls. At that time, 1.5 million rupees was spent to increase this structure. The peak of the main temple is about 79 feet high, which undoubtedly dominates the skyline of Udaipur. This peak (peak) is equipped with statues of dancers, elephants, horsemen, and musicians, who actually make a scene to watch it.

There is a four-armed image of Lord Vishnu in the main temple. This idol has been carved by a piece of black stone. A glimpse of the idol takes the person to the celestial world to find everything calm and serene. The main temple of Lord Jagadish / Vishnu is surrounded by four small temples. These shrines are devoted to God Ganesha, Sun God, Goddess Shakti, and Lord Shiva, respectively.

The magnificent architecture of the temple has Pyramid Spir, Pavilion (prayer hall) and a porch. There are 50 pillars in the first and second floor of the temple. Complicated carvings on columns require a permanent vision to admire the remarkable beauty of this temple. This temple was built keeping in mind the Hindu Vastu Shastra of ‘Vastu Shastra’. Every year, people from far and near come to visit this holy place. In addition to the grandeur of the temple, peace cannot be made in words, therefore, in order to find the blessings of Lord Jagadish, it must be done in this temple.
