Ghanta Ghar and Sardar Market jodhpur
At a distance of 1.5 km from Jodhpur junction and 3 km from Jodhpur Fort, Ghanta Ghar, also called the clock tower, is located in Jodhpur city of Rajasthan. It is one of the major sites in Jodhpur and one of the top places in Jodhpur.
Ghanta Ghar was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh Ji of Jodhpur. Next to the tower is Sardar Market, which is often seen by tourists in the shopping spree. Tourists from this market can buy Rajasthani textiles, clay statues, small camels and elephants, marble work and classic silver jewelry. Here you can also buy the finest variety of spices. It’s a great place to hang around leisurely.
The vibrant Sardar is close to the market tower, and the narrow streets lead to the market selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts from here. It’s a great place to hang around leisurely.
I enjoyed walking around narrow corridors, watching pictures and talking with traders. Spices are cheap in India, and I pick up a few different packets to send home as a gift. Like many places in India, stray cattle can be found roaming in streets and alleys. In addition to the fort and this market, there is not really much to see in Jodhpur. However, I liked it here very much After the madness of places like Delhi and Jaipur, it was good to relax in this beautiful and historic city.
