Fateh Sagar Lake is the second artificial lake in Udaipur, the first is Jaisamand Lake. Located in the north of Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake is located in addition to the entrance of Moti Magari hill. Built-in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh, the name of Fateh Sagar Lake was taken from Maharana Fateh Singh, which later separated for it. Talking about the statistics of Fateh Sagar, this lake extends up to 2.4 km, a length of 1.6 km. In width and deep to the extent of 11.5 meters. During the monsoon, the lake covers a total area of about 1 square km.
Fateh Sagar Lake is well planned with three intake channels and one overflow channel, which is usually played in a rainy season. Fateh Sagar Lake is beautified by three small islands, which can be reached by boat ride in the lake. The largest island in the lake has been developed in a park named after Nehru Park. There is a boat-shaped restaurant in the garden and a small zoo for children. This island park is a favorite picnic spot for Udaipurites.
The second island has been transformed into a public park with spectacular water-jet fountains by the Rajasthan government. The third island addresses the Udaipur Solar Observatory, which is the best solar observation site in Asia. Fateh Sagar Lake is a quiet place where people usually come for relaxation and lighten the lake clean water. From the bottom of Moti Magari Hill, you can rent a pedal boat or motorboat at your convenience.
This pear-shaped lake is surrounded by hills, except for it’s eastern part, where there is a direct stone binding. You can enjoy this lake while passing through Moti Magari Road, Fateh Sagar Drive and Rani Road. This twisted path will include the wonderful views of the lake as well as the Aravalli hills. Fateh Sagar Lake is a good place to visit and tourists definitely come to enjoy the tranquil beauty of this lake.
